I have a 9 year old Daughter who needs pitching and hitting help for the upcoming travel ball tryouts this fall. Can anyone give me suggestions. Is there anywhere we can go for both or do we need to look at this as seperate. I guess we would be willing to travel a little farther if we can find someone that we could get both done in the same day.

Delaware.. Emily Halpin. I'm sure someone can post her # for you. I have it at home.
She has many kids that work with her on both.

Mannino's Grand Slam in Dublin offers both. My DD has been taking pitching there for a while and just started batting lessons too.

I don't think she is back to work after her baby yet. Coop can confirm. Grand Slam in Dublin offers both at a reasonable rate. We see Mike Lockwood there for hitting. He teaches similar to Hitter. Ron Marstiller is a great pitching coach there as well.

I appriciate the post on Emily but If she is not providing can you suggest someone else that we can go to for imediate needs.

I will call the dublin place to see what they offer.

In our rec league we also heard of someone in Plain City that does both.

You can't miss with Ron Marstiller (has produced some of the best pitchers Ohio has seen and we can personally vouch for him as he was pitching coach for our DD for eight years and is now pitching coach for one of our very talented pitchers on Buckeye Heat '95) or Les Rodgers, if he is still teaching out of Grand Slam.

PS: We've watched Emily in action and she has been very good for one of our other talented pitchers, but if she's not an option, I think it's a no-brainer: go to Grand Slam.

Actually its Les Randolph. That's who has been teaching my DD. Took her from an absolute disaster as a pitcher to where she just joined a travel team. He is teaching batting as well. His availability is limited at times, but he is very good. I've heard Ron is good too. Either would be good. Just be prepared to throw a lot with your DD. Pitching takes a lot of work at home to be successful.

Don't tell Les I screwed up his name. I knew it was Randolph but the fingers produced Rodgers.

Is the Jimmy Yates and Pete Spoerl someone referred to the same Pete that helps Howard with students and clinics?

Does anyone know anything about Jimmy Yates?

Does anyone know how to get in touch with either of them?

Pete Spoerl has been working with Howard and has been given the thumbs up by Howard. Jimmy Yates comes from the Doug Gillis camp out of the Michigan/Toledo area. Doug is one of the top pitching coaches in the midwest, and Jim is no slouch from what I have heard.
