I would suggest you put a little of your own effort into creating a personal profile. Just copying another sends a signal to the coaches that you really are not willing to put forth the effort to get recruited and gives them a hint of what is to come should they bring you on as a recruit. Gather profile sheets to view and get ideas but in the end you will be miles ahead to create your own personal profile with your personality incorporated. Getting recruited is a monumental task and from experience, the more personal you make it the better your chances of getting noticed. Spend the time - after all you are expecting the coaches to spend time to find you!!
Sorry to disagree with you CP. Most of the college coaches I have spoken with are fed up with personality. They are looking for a concise, non time consuming, informational packet. Name, picture, stats, contact info, and maybe some level of competition comparatives to see if they are playing a rec league, local travel schedule, or are they challenging themselves to some higher level competition. If they see what they consider a profile that meets there criteria, then they progress on to getting a chance to see them in either a video, or in person.
Dont let me get started on video qualities!
The videos that have a flashy opening with music and graphics wear them out. It seems to be the same video shots with 10 swings, 10 cream puff grounders, and 10 weak bunt attempts. Almost all of the coaches that I have had contact with just want to see some game situations, either hitting, base running, or fielding. It gives them a better idea of the quality of athlete they might be looking for. They are able to time the runners speed, detect flaws in swings, or get an idea of throwing speeds. You'd be surprised on how many colleges have contacted me about my dd based on watching her mechanics in slo-mo, or about timing her from home to 1st. They sit around in dark rooms with stop watches timing kids, and breaking down there mechanics once they get a clue that you might be interested. Trust me they don't spend much time "searching" for recruits, they get interested by someone showing interest in there program.
So bottom line, I have removed my link of the sample profile I was letting parents use. Maybe you can help some kids with some personality profiles that can get them some looks.
I will still send it to whoever wants to private message me and give me there email. That way we dont have to have any comments from the sideline.
