Hitting and Hitters Discussion Private hitting lessons or travelball

Need opinions on this. Your DD has 2 more years in travelball. If you had a choice to skipping one year travel ball for private hitting lessons/practices 2-3 (practices would be hiring a good pitcher instead of batting machine) times a week for two month would you do it? would it be benificial?

What are you trying to accomplish? There is a big difference in hitting off the same pitcher or even a machine in a nice relaxed atmosphere than seeing different pitchers in pressure situations. If you are looking to improve your DD's mechanics and overall hitting I would find a good hitting coach to start working with now and through the winter, perhaps take the fall and winter off from competition. But I would not give up travel ball even for a year, especially if your DD is older which I think she is by youir post. Good luck and I'm sure there are to be more opinions. ;D ;D ;D

Both of our kids are in private instruction (hitting and pitching). I don't know why you can't do both. They both also play on travel teams (Softball and Baseball)
