YES!

This will be on the same day that we see two perfect teams flawlessly play an entirely perfect game.

Bretman you are right, ?umpires are just like the teams themselves, ?you have good ones and bad ones. ? There are many good umpires that know the rules and enforce them in a fair manner. ? Fair doesn't mean equal, ?some teams commit more infractions that others, ?some teams make more plays on a given day. ? It gets harder to draw good, ?hard working, ?well intentioned umpires and officials for every sport when you have nut cases screaming at every call. ? A lot of times these people have no idea about the rules but just scream when they don't get there way. ? ?Alternately you umpires that don't understand the game, ? any game, ?and you have umps who want to get there cash and leave asap. ?

I don't know about "perfect" but this past fall league in Beavercreek we had an umpire behind the plate that was one the best I have ever seen, but The Best Ump of all in my opinion was a gentlemen behind the plate May 05, 2005 at a Greenon H.S. game this past summer. Full control of the game, knew how to call a good drop ball, gave the corners to the pitchers just like he should. Ran out to the mound to make a call at second. Don't know his name, but he was awesome, we need 10,000 more like him.

The original post in this thread- the one that I first replied to- seems to have disappeared.

Without the context of that first post, my response doesn't really make much sense- not that I've ever been accused of making much sense anyhow... ;D

The post that started this thread asked, "Will we ever see a perfect umpire, that both teams like and agree with?". It went on to say that it seemed like some umpires have never even bothered to read the rule book.

But, that post is gone. Deleted, I guess. We have been the victims of a drive-by poster!

Sure, I think the Fiesta Bowl will be a good game. We have to get to Quinn instead of just letting him sit back there all day.

Not so sure Joe, I think if they can get a Bengals Colts rematch that would be better.

Don't forget DogsDad, the Tribe resigned Wickman for another season, so that rematch may be possible. (Guess I am going to need more rolaids).
