We just received our Capital City refund. And I must say they were bigger than what they said would be the refund. Great job on this handling this, Bill.

Ditto! Was shocked to see a very fair refund for only being able to play one game! :yahoo:

I thought Bill Beckham was more than fair in his handling of a tough situation. We got our refund last week from him. I was very pleased.

However, I cannot say the same for Mike Craig and his handling of the refunds for the 11th Annual Central Ohio Invitational three weeks ago. All he is offering is a 'credit' for another NSA tournament. He didn't say for how much and is no longer returning my emails to him.

He canceled the whole 14U tournament on Sunday morning at 8:30, yet continued to play the 12U and 16U at another site. 14U got shafted big time especially when we were 'guaranteed' 4 games and we only got 2 games. He also got us on gate fees for 2 days which was all pocket money for someone. He also never paid any umpires that showed up in Pickerington on the morning at 8:00 for our games, and one of those drove over an hour to get there.
If I have my way, our NSA playing days are over. Mike Craig seems to be making a lot of money and is not being fair about how he deals with people when something like rain interrupts the day.

Say no to NSA!

Bill is a good guy that I always thought would do his best to be fair in any situation. It appears I am right.

I'm sure that Bill is truly committed to Ohio softball. But don't underestimate the leverage that we have as OFC members. That's the balance that we need between TD's and teams in Ohio.

I have no idea how much our refund will be but glad to hear most people are happy with it. Talk about a frustrating weekend!! (played 5 outs of first game on Friday ... then a one hour game over 30 hours later .... waking up to the cancellation on Sunday was a kick in the stomach) I'm sure the 8 or so guys who had to have 32 fields ready to go were just as stressed as all of us.

The memories of sitting under our tent, drinking cold refreshments, in the parking lot of our hotel, during a thunderstorm with "Doppler Dean" .... sorry Dean, all of us solving the worlds problems, will be some memories to last a life time.

Lets hope no other tournaments are cancelled due to Rain (Eastlake), Tornados (Bazetta) (North Ridgeville), and Rain/Thunderstorms (Columbus)............ hard to believe we are down to less than a month of tournements.

Everybody Stay Safe .... Have a great season!

Makes me want to move out west where you can actually play games regularly!! The weather here stinks for fastpitch

MCHAMMERS we left NSA a few years ago and have not been back since. They are not in it for the girls, they are all about the money. I say stay with ASA and USSSA and you will be fine. Nice 14u team you have by the way and #12 your shortstop, has to be one of the best I have ever seen, she is awesome. Keep up the good work and goodluck to you the rest of the year.

We have one NSA tournament left this year that we have already paid for, but next year there will be no NSA for the Montgomery County Hammers.

As for number 12, she is pretty special to me too:). So is number 14 for us. Twice as much fun to watch when two of them are out there playing.

Someday we might be able to beat your 14U team. They seem to have our number. Kelly does a great job with those girls.

Mike Craig is a nice talker, but I do not think he is a trustworthy man. At first he was promising a $100 refund, and now he is down to nothing, including not emailing back to let us know how to use his 'credit' for NSA tournaments in the future.
He made a small fortune off of all the 14U teams that never played on Sunday. Now by not offering refunds he has pocketed even more.

Step up Mike Craig and do what is right.

We(16u HH Roarwarriors) also received our refund and was more than exspected. Two weekends ago we also played at the queen city 3-ump showcase ran by bill an i talked to him about the refund and he's trying like heck to be strong in the columbus area so he said he was doing his best with a bad situation to make it right and as someone stated earlier he is a real good guy trying to put on good solid events for the softball community of ohio.
Will give him another shot in the future at least he's giving a good effort and with any luck with weather and berliner parks staff i think he will put on a good event.

I agree. He made it right in a bad situation and we will definately play in his tournaments in the future, like this weekend for example.
