Recruiting website

Not sure about anyone else, but every single college coach we spoke with during the recruiting process told us that when they receive emails regarding potential athletes from recruiting services, they delete the emails as every single recruit is portrayed as a DI player, which we all know not every player is suited for DI..........just saying you may want to attend clinics and keep your DD's face in front of the College she is interested in.....may be better spent money and more bang for the buck! Or.......contact the coach yourself...they will much more want to talk to your daughter than a recruiter.

I got just the opposite, we had very good luck with the Berecruited website.
Coaches got a chance to look at my dd to see if interested and see her videos.
Got calls from all divisions from big ten, swac to naia.

Before she put up a committed notice on her profile on be recruited, she had well over 200 views a large mix from D1 on down. Now in saying that we used it mainly as a place for the coaches to have her skills vid and other vids at a touch of a finger for the coaches.

Im sure some coaches will dump e mails from recruiting web sites Ive talked to a few that have said the same thing, but when your starting its a numbers game, get as much notice as you can from as many coaches as you can. The first e mail profile we sent out had the be recruited addy on it and it just seemed to take over from there.

Another cool feature in the paid sections was the ability of the letter generator and the address finder from almost every college in the states......... hit one button for one of 3 different letters you can send the coach, then hit another button to pick the college and coach and then hit send.......... you can cover complete conferences
in a matter of minutes.
As they get older and get closer to a decision you can weed out what you do not want as far as colleges go and concentrate on the camps and clinics of the ones your interested in, if a coach shows interest they will hit the web site, just takes work and persistence, Its not an end all or fool proof just another tool to use to help you get noticed.

I am going to jump in as a college coach. Recruiting websites are great tools if used in the appropriate manner. If a kid sends me a personal email inviting me to check out their profile on BeRecruited, NCSA, or CaptainU for example, I will take the time to do so. If I get a canned copy of an email that I can tell has been mass emailed to a lot of coaches, I usually delete it. So these websites are great tools, but it is up to the recruit and parents to utilize them in a manner that is going to get them the most interest. Some people use these tools as shortcuts. Coaches can see right thru that. Another thing about these recruiting websites--if you don't have a video posted on the profile, the chances of me wanting to come watch you play is drastically reduced.

On a similar note--this is the time of year that I get hundreds of emails from kids telling me that they are going to be at the Queen of Diamonds and/or the Kent State camp. That's great, but why should I come watch you over all the other kids if you have sent me a generic email that has also gone to every other coach on the list of college coach attendees? I am not going to watch a kid unless I already know who they are, or they have taken extra effort to show that they have done research on our school or program.

Just my input, for what it is worth.

Anyone hear about this site or know anything about it.

http://ohiosoftballrecruitingnews.com/

This is not a recruiting site for student athletes, rather this is a site put together by coaches and other softball persons that regularly scout and evaluate the softball talent in the state of Ohio. They give their input in ranking players and in giving updates on top players throughout the state for college coaches to use in their recruitment process.

Players do not have input into this site or the information that gets posted on it. I don't know who the coaches/persons are who contribute the information, but I know some college coaches use this site, as my dd was contacted by a D1 Big East coach who read about her on that site.

Don't get me wrong BeRecruited is a useful website but it is put together by athletes and their parents at a very reasonable rate..........it is not something they push....you as a parent and or athlete do all the work it is not a paid service pushing your DD's signing for money....just saying!

Does anyone know who runs this?. who are the coaches that have input on the player selection?
