The Reds Urban Youth Academy has announced the second in their series of free softball coaches clinics. Last month we focused on hitting & this month's topics are Defense & Pitching. I, along w/ Coach Herb Riley, will be leading the defensive portion while Coach Pat Spurlock (Ex-Cedarville Univ Pitching Coach) will be the instructor for pitching session.

Date: Sunday 3/24
Time: 2 - 4:00 pm
Where: Reds Urban Youth Academy Gamble
Montessori School in Winton Place (formerly C.A.P.E. High School)
5425 Winton Ridge Lane, Cincinnati, OH 45232

If you have any questions, please let me know (513-207-5617).

Also, thanks to all of those that attended the free hitting clinic in Feb. Please continue to get the word out about these clinics as the Reds & their staff want to continue to help the kids of today & tomorrow any way we can.

SWO, SE Indy, NKY, and the rest in OHIO....please pass this on to the local rec leagues. They will also benefit from this. So, if you are still in touch with your recreational leader whether it's baseball or softball, this is a great venue and the information is free. The academy is trying to reach out and they need help from the community to spread the word.

Just to be clear, is this a players clinic, a teach the coach clinic, or both?

Just a coaches clinic. Our hope is that after we clear the hurdle this year with the coaches clinics, we will be able to provide player clinics next year. We want to insure we are putting on a quality event so I am in the teaching phase with the academy on what softball clinics look like, equipment needs, etc. Thanks for your inquiry.

Just a few days away from the clinic. Again this clinic is a 2 hour session, : 1 hour on defense & 1 hour on pitching. From a defensive point of view, not only will we go over the basics but demonstrated drills which bring those skills to life. If you have not but would like to formally register:
please visit Reds in the Community | reds.com: Community or contact Bill Daggy at (513) 765-7234 or redsurbanyouthacademy@reds.com

Clinic will go on as planned given the biggest part of the storm is not coming until tonight. Hope to see you there.
