Relay throws

Just wondering if anyone has tried timing the relay throw from outfield to home plate?

200 to 230 feet with relay to the plate. A couple factors involved, a dead ball pickup with accuracy and speed. Age groupings may drop the distance, the lower age will lower distance applied.

You may find this interesting and be able to set standards for outfielders & infielders.

For you stat and math wiz folks try this and see how it can improve reaction time.

Lets see some scores.

200 ft / ___ secs.

230 ft / ___ secs.

any distance combination helps. The by the numbers people will like this!!

Never tried it, though not a bad idea if you are a defense-minded coach looking for the most airtight defense possible. Late in games when you're up one run, it may be good to know what OFs/IFs you can most trust with a play at the plate. I may try it with the girls soon, make a game of it, and let the competition bring the best out of them. :)
