Quick article highlighting the latest findings on parent involvement in youth sports.

Thoughts? I have seen all manner of parent interaction. The healthiest is when the parent helps their child develop their skill level and love for the game. Unfortunately, I have seen the opposite of this relationship scare some good players out of the sport.

Note - forgive me of this was already posted. Didn't see it on here so thought it might be good to pass along.

Coach...my thoughts are such:
Better to be involved then not...but if you micro manage your kids success they will always look at a parent for feedbacks and they do not think on their own.
ask your kids what they want to achieve? Make sure it's what they want and not what you want.
expectation of wanting success should correlate with effort given and not what you spent. If my child does not play at the next level but he/she gave all they have...it should be good enough.
most parents spend the time and money, hoping for our kids to succeed.
Not every child will feel the pressure of having to succeed because money spent by their parents. Rather...it's the parents who keep reminding their kids what they sacrificed and making kids feel guilty if they don't succeed...that leads to kids quitting and hating a sport.

P.S. Nice season...
