RVBFY CLUB SOFTBALL 2011
It?s here! Time to put together your team and begin to prepare for another season of fastpitch softball. River Valley Baseball for Youth is proud to host a Club Softball league for the 2011 season. We are honored to sponsor a league where Middle School girls can play and continue to improve their skills.
We welcome 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls to participate. We offer two divisions for an even split of skill level and competition: Varsity and JV. Any participating school is welcome to put one or more teams in the league but must consist of girls from the same participating school. Please be sure to indicate which division your team should play in with your registration. Final determination will be made by RVBFY.
We will be using OHSAA rules and guidelines and pitch from 40?. Team practice can begin on March 7, 2011 (pitchers and catchers on February 21, 2011). The season will begin March 29, 2011, and continue for five weeks ending April 30, 2011. Games will be played on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and double headers on Saturdays with a goal to complete a 15 game schedule. Game time on Tuesday and Thursday is 5:30 pm and Saturdays at 9:30 am, 11:00 am, and 1:30 pm.
The Team fee will be $175.00 and is due by March 4, 2011. Team fees include field preparation and lining of the fields, and the scheduling the umpires. Both teams will evenly split the umpire fee at each game ($20.00 per team = $40 per game to umpire). Each team is to provide six new OHSAA official game balls prior to the season starting. Each team is also responsible for their uniforms. A unique number on the back of each matching shirt is required. Team insurance is likely covered by the school, since all teams practice at their participating school.
We welcome the first 18 registered teams to the league, so don?t hesitate and get signed up today. You may register your team now without a complete roster. Please sign up by listing your Team Name and contact information or fill out the top of the Registration Form and e-mail it in or mail it in with the league fee. The league will be posted on the OFC at www.game-ex.com. You may post there also.
The registration deadline is Friday, March 4, 2011. There is also a coaches meeting that day at 7:30 pm at the River Valley Middle School commons area. We will finalize league rules and discuss conduct expectations for players, coaches, officials, and fans.
