Scenic City 16u Showcase in Chattanooga Tennessee

From my team's standpoint - here is who watched us specifically & requested unofficial visits from my players: Birmingham Southern, Evansville, Belmont, Wright State, TN Tech, Western Carolina, Purdue, Not bad for a weak team right Kashmir. Not sure how they chose the "Super Pools" but if you know me or my team we will play anybody at anytime. To be honest, this was the first time our org has played in this showcase & we sent 3 teams & this might be part of our issue - no history. However, they did let my weak team in the Champions Elite Showcase in Atlanta next weekend. We play GA Impact / Louisville Lady Sluggers / FL Crush, Heritage General / GA Power / East Cobb Bullets.

Your team definitely should have been in the super pool.

From a clarity sake I never mentioned we were co-champs of the 16U entire 16U field. Further, over time you have always seemed to have an issue or a negative tone towards my team & for what reasons I am not sure of. My whole goal is to get these girls a great education for a cheaper price & I believe they are well on their way - nothing to do w/ me - but all to do with that they are simply great young ladies who happen to be skilled in the game of softball.

As I previously mentioned, I was unaware that there were two groups for 16U. You omitted that fact, and I'm not saying it was done purposely. You seem to be somewhat thin skinned, as I have commented on many teams over the years, not just yours. And to reiterate, I have never stated you have a weak team. Good luck to you going forward.

Funny how people have comments when they do not have a dog in the fight. Kashmir where were you? You have a good team. You constantly criticize others or should I say Static 97 for the most part but I never see you in these tournaments. You should be in it for your girls and trying to get them money for school like others but instead you are always being an a$$ toward others. What is up with that? I am trying to be nice but you can push one over the edge, I guess I am thin skinned to, I don't know. NICE JOB STATIC ON CO-CHAMPS!!!

I would like to know what college coaches showed up at the Ohio based teams games....it is one thing to say you SAW XYZ SEC, PAC coach there but it is whole different ballgame when they came to your game. don't kid yourself, very few OHIO teams can draw coaches at these big events....this is when you hope as an Ohio team, you face a well know West Coast team

DD's team is Ohio based, we had several coaches in attendance, 2 players received D1 campus invites, and 1 player received a D1 offer. Some coaches came to see players on her team, other passing coaches were attracted by skills demonstrated by players during game play. What colleges they were and what players were offered is a private matter between players, parents and coaches. Players, parents and coaches that know how to truly play the exposure game at these tournaments get results.

I am not a person that normally comments on these post. However, after reading this I feel the need.

My DD's team played Static 97 Friday night in this tourament. This was a great defensive game by both teams ending with 1 run scored in the last inning by Static. After the girls have shaken hands and have yet to exit the field, the Static coach decides to say to his team "Dont be happy with this win, we should have killed that team." My DD ws so angered by this comment. If this is how he felt it should have been said to his team off of the field. How about having some respect for all the girls that love and play this game. They are there for the same reason your team is. Sad part is we are an Ohio team also. Hope this is not how you represented Ohio all weekend! THAT WAS A CLASSLESS MOVE!

Dudleydoright - you are exactly right about what I said (but not sure if I used the word killed). This comment was meant for my team only & I obviously said it too loud if player(s) on your team heard it - I apologize for that. It does not matter is you are from Ohio or not, I should have not said it loud enough except for my team to hear it. People who know me know I do not try to degrade any player/team. Yes I was very disappointed in my team's performance Friday night especially in the hitting w/ runner on base category after leaving in excess of 10 runners on base. As I always do, I address my team at home plate right after the game just as your team met around the 2nd base area. I need to insure I keep my voice to where my players only hear my comments. Again I am sorry.

I have to say I've heard many a coach say those exact words and I would assume many other coaches have said that. I would tell my child listen and beat them next time. Don't get angry rather get even... No big deal. IMHO

Not any big deal at all , and no need to be offended and acting like the Static coach did anything wrong. you OBVIOUSLY overheard something meant for his team only and if you need that kind of thing for motivation then so be it. No need to try to make them look back for it .

I'd say that every coach, parent, and player has said those words at least once. If not all, 99.98%. Heck, I've had grandparents say it too :).

Kavin great job with your players.

In my opinion, you are not a mean spirited coach or person and if that was all that was said some one does not listen close enough to other coaches when they have those end of the game motivation speeches or during the game either.

Let me know when you need help with the girls again.

Does anyone know how THE Static team did this weekend? I sure hope Kavin did not yell at the girls!

Thanks Howard

Well Howard the rubber met the road pretty well for Kavin and his team this weekend. For a mediocrity team they did pretty darn well going 5 and 1. Their only loss came to Louisville Sluggers 2-0. This is the same team they beat at Scenic City 2-0. So I would say that is a nice rivalry. Static beat Georgia Impact 5-2, Georgia Power 12-2, West Florida Crush 4-0, Tennessee Heritage 6-1 and East Cobb Bullets 8-4. They finished FIRST in their pool again. From my understanding I do not believe Kavin yelled at the girls and again I think the mediocrity team did a nice job. What do you think Kashmir? Your thoughts are the ones that do count the most. NICE JOB STATIC 97 LADIES AND COACHES!!!!

My dd plays for the 16u Slugger team that Kavin hasn't played yet. She was struggling this weekend at the plate and in the middle of one of Statics game she walked up and both Kavin and Shannon talked with her and corrected a problem she was having and the the result was she went 3 for 4 today with the highlight being a home run that multiple SEC coaches saw. So thank you to Shannon and Kavin!!

Been a while since i have visited this site (moved my former stingray a$@ to Georgia..) it was nice to see all the ohio teams at scenic city and also ran in to the static folks in atlanta this past weekend... I can say that the big OH showed very well south of the mason dixon line and it was fun to tell my new friends "i told you so". Had the chance to play Grover's strong classics team in a very good 1-0 game after missing the chance at nationals...and watched Lasers Blue play very well also in the super pool.. Hoping we can get some of you guys down south this summer for Legacy...still believe (other than sparkler out west) that it is the premier showcase going today.
