SCHEDULE 16u Friendly - Lebanon

Coaches:

With 7 teams and three of them 14u.. this is the best schedule I can come up with to get the teams the needed competition . When scheduling this I am trying to give the opportunity of the 16u coaches using a number 3 pitcher against the 14u teams to WORK on their pitchers against the lower age group girls.

I spoke with Coach McQueen for over a hour this morning and he assures me his pitchers are 14 and 15 years old and he doesn't have 1/2 of his normal team and not one of his other pitchers are going to be there due to commitments besides his daughter who is a pitcher.

Common sense rules the day, coaches and I know that each and everyone of you knows what is right on a ballfield when it comes to these girls.

I worked and worked and this is the best and SAFEST way to run this friendly in my opinion. You will notice that the Static 14u and the Riptides 14u will play each other twice. I have scheduled them an (equal ) game the last game of the day to go home on and hopefully a good note from their experience at this event.

The schedule does not show the fields yet as we have 2 fields at 220 and one open. Extra field ( with pitcher's mound ) available for warm-up for teams.. especially after a bye for the team. Coaches are to report to Jim Hamrick at the Concession stand. Pay him your fee of $175.00 . Your game by game and field by field assignments will be in your packet he gives you... so you don't have to go to the board to find out. Please play within the schedule time if possible.

Tournament Rules:

1. NO reporting of scores

2. NO run rule

3. NO new inning after 1:20. NO new batter after 1:25... ( game time set for friendly at 1:30 )

4. There are NO tournament rules . Bat what you want and play any 9 in the field. Some one is hurt.. squeeze the line-up. NO out is to be taken. Last out can run for catcher or pitcher.

5. ALL coolers are welcome. Full concession stand is there and open.

6. PARENTS: Bring lawn chairs is best advice. Remember, there is only one (1) umpire. If he is lazy, please do two things A) Please feel free to climb all over him for being so....:D ..... and B) remember that close play at second on a steal is a hard call to make.

7. Some local rec teams (younger) have been contacted to come over and watch the event and see where they need to work hard to go play travel ball. Teams and parents: Please make their experience a good one. Rec girls are the " future " travel girls down the road if.. at a young age... they get the fever such as all of us.:yahoo: Thanks, In advance for your help in this matter.

COACHES: This round is a good round to use a pitcher for work. Please communicate with one another and allow common goals to lead the day here in this 14u VS 16u round. Thanks.

3:00 or 3:15 Start times:

Doom 14u VS Static 16u ( Full 7 innings)

Static Teal 14u VS Riptides 14u ( Full 7 innings)

ALL seven (7) innings is due to being the teams that either had a BYE ( Doom14u, Riptides 14u and Static 16u) and Static Teal 14u for playing four in a row. I think these four teams deserve a FULL 7 inning game. NO time limit.

You are welcome. Jim has been great to work with on the Lebanon fields for the teams. Jim puts a lot of time into the youth sports in Lebanon. Good man.

It's going to be a great day for softball and coaches working the girls to get better.

I think we will do this again next year as well... maybe 16u in Lebanon and 14u at a park outside of Goshen I discovered accidently here last week and 12's in Maineville for 2011.

Hopefully no two age groups together. That's the hardest thing. To make sure of safety first in mixed age groups.

Great opportunity to work out your players. This late in fall looks like weather will not be an issue.

See everyone Sunday

Jim does a great job in Lebanon and I was talking to him about maybe forming a Fall league for the 14u, 16u and 18u next Fall with teams having options on the Sunday Fall league when they go play out of town tournaments and reschedule games, etc...

I think Lebanon would be a wonderful place for the teams to meet and play friendlies, etc...

I know Jim would do the teams a GREAT job if he does have one next Fall.

Thanks to everyone involved with the Friendly in Lebanon. I spoke with several people and all were in agreement that it ran as smoothly and efficiently as any friendly/scrimmage could run. Thanks again for your efforts. It was a great way to finish up the fall.

Jim Hamrick did a nice job keeping things on time for the teams. He commented to me yesterday what a great group of coaches the friendly had and I agree.

Lebanon showed off their park to the teams as a "new" place to go to play the game of fastpitch.

I met with Jim last night in Lebanon and I got to see some other fields at the other Colonial EAST Park.... and there are two diamonds there as well as another two diamonds dedicated to 10u age group only due to size.

That would make it 5 diamonds for the older girls and 2 diamonds for 10u only.

NONE with a pitcher's mound to get in the way !!!!

Teams should think about a Sunday Fall league there next year. If I know Jim, he'd keep the prices down for the teams.
