Has anybodys DD used the Schutt Bandit. My DD cant use the RT's or the Catlyst. She needs a 29". (10U) We bought a 30" easton 888 at the end of last year and I think its a little big for her?(not to heavy but to long)
The bandit is carbon, does it have to have a break in period?

Or does anybody have a different suggestion for bat selection.

Check out Miken. Good bat. Decent pop and you may get an older model at a reasonable price.

We have heard some great reviews from the Schutt composite bat. We are actually planning on buying one ourselves. The only thing that has stopped us is that we have heard that a newer end-loaded bat should be coming out. We are hoping to wait for that one to come out.

i would not have a 10yr old use an end loaded bat if that is how old your daughter is. this has a totally differant feel and requires a slightly differant swing to get the full use of the end load. requires more of a whip action which requires a lot of strength. my personal opinion is i would wait a year or 2 to introduce and end load bat . this, of course varies with each player but on a whole i think end loads should not be used at the younger ages ie 9 and 10 jmho

What about the lower priced Anderson model? I believe it is the pyrotech? I don't know too much about them. Anyone have any experience?

I have 15 & 17 year old daughters. I was just posting because someone was asking about Schutt bats. One of my daughters has been using end-loaded bats for several years. The other one began using one last summer with great results.

I have been looking at Schutt bats and saw the Schutt Plus on the ASA banned bat list?
Interested in any feedback on these bats.

Two of our girls (12U) use the Worth Prodigy. This is a minus 13 bat with good pop. They are priced at about $130 and have held up in the batting cages as well as other girls using them. They seem to be a very good bat for smaller girls. If you would like to talk to the girls parents about them let me know.

Well it went really good, my DD just turned 9 and was happy that she got her first true double by hitting the ball to center field in the air(instead of rolling). Some of the other girls used it with good results. I guess you can say it was worth my $$.

Sounds like she likes it. Did the paperwork that came with it say anything about a break in period? I never have bought a carbon bat before so I was just wondering?

What a great day for softball!!!!!!!

I didn't see anything in the paper work about a break in period. I was told by the gentleman that I buy my bats from that it will get more pop with time. I only hope so. I bought my other DD a Catalyst and might have been better off spending a little less and bought her one of the Schutts. Live and learn.

The only negative i have heard on schutt's bats are they seem to break down quickly and usually dont make it through a full season, but if it's a 9yr. old dd i doubt she will get that many bats to do this, good luck !

I have read quite a few reviews on the new catalyst, and they were not all that great. They have all said the RT are a little better.

Thats good to know for the future but it sounds like my dd & ultraclas dd will not have that problem. Good to know for the older girls thanks

I bouight the -10 for my daughter and had one of my High School players swing it and she also has a RT and after the last couple of days she is going to try the Cat this weekend in our game, she says it feels better. Alls we can do is wait and see. I'll let you know how it went.
Had my little DD at hitting tonight and all she talked about was her hit sunday.

If you have or have had a Schutt "Bandit" is it true that the bat "BREAKS DOWN" in a years use? This information is key to me, Buy or not Buy. I have a 12 year old, I would like to think she could use the bat 2 seasons

This is my first attempt with the schutt, I won't know till after the season. I can ask my supplier and see what he says, he sells more then one kind of bat and is pretty up front, I'll see what he says.
