Selecting the correct Girls Fastpitch Team and level of play for your daughter. Quiz?
I was thinking about this during the live broadcasting of Tuesday nights weekly "TSZ - Radio Show".
After Crystle one the host on the Radio Show, mentioned that one of her younger daughters played recreational league softball, and another daughter who is older, played at a higher level of Girls Fastpitch travel ball.
Then two other Hosts, Jeff and Bob brought up the fact about different levels of play. Bob pointed out, that its just not fun for some of the girls anymore, you can see it when I umpire games Bob said.
During this conversation we were also talking about girls that start out playing softball in college, but didn't finish playing out their careers at college even if they'd stayed in college.
At this point I brought up having a aptitude Test, or some type of quiz to determine if a Girl Fastpitch Softball player would complete her softball career if they stayed in college.
But in the back of my mine, I was thinking even deeper then that. As I started looking over old project that were half done from "Ohio Fastpitch Connection" forum days.
Then I found what I was looking for.
Its was a half completed parents quiz from 1997, that would determiner your daughters level of play or as I named it "What your Daughters best fit in softball"
It had some yes and no questions.
Some true and false questions.
Some we're multiple choices.
Some questions were age specific, and current level of play specific..
The whole idea of the quiz was to let parents evaluate there daughter using data input from Coaches and other Parents.
Once you complete the quiz, the result would give you some ideas on your daughter current development compared to other players.
The one thing I was trying to achieve with the quiz. I wanted to give the parents a real way to evaluate what level of softball the girls would have more fun playing.
More bang for your buck!
I didn't think Parents wanted to watch your daughter seating on the beach and having no fun. Because teams need a extra body.
Using the quiz would have been a way to help determine what would be best for your daughter and family.
Since I never complete the quiz, I wanted to open it for discussion again.
What's your ideas?
What question would you ask on the quiz?
Feedback from forum wanted.
