I am a college freshman playing for Midway College (KY), and i recently found out that i had severe rotator cuff tendonitis. ?We do not have a full time trainer on campus, and I was hoping that someone could tell me how I can keep this from happening agian. Any excersises and/or drills that can help me build back my shoulder strength would be appreciated.

I too had tendonitis when I was in college, just 2 long years ago. I couldn't pitch more than 6-7 games a year. Then I found a great excercise and I pitched 162 innings my senior year. I don't know that exact name. but I used big rubber bands to do strengthening excercises once a day and before games. They are hard to explain. The name of the company is Jump Stretch Inc. they have a website that can explain the program better, www.jumpstretch.com. They are located in Austintown, OH. It is a great program, I still use it today.

I've also suffered from shuolder problems, and my trainer had me stretch and ice 3-4 times a day, then after that go to dry heat. (wet a washcloth and put it in the microwave for 15-20 seconds) put it right on the skin. it really helps loosen up the muscles. hope that helps you.

I recently learned that i was throwing side arm, and had to learn to throw "over the top". What else is there?
