Snow Dance

OK, my kids are in their beds with their PJs inside out and spoons under their pillows. Is anyone else participating in this or other rituals that will supposedly prompt the school district to declare a snow day? (Or better yet, is there an anti-snow day dance???)

Cool rituals! ?My kids are going to have to give those a try next time snow is in the forecast. ?Glad you guys did it, cause it seemed to work! Whoopie, snow day! ? ?:D

Just for fun, can you explain where your traditions came from? ?I guess I kind of get the inside out pj's...kind of like "rally caps", but what's with the spoon? ? ;D

I'm not sure what's with the spoons and frankly, I'm not sure I want to ask her. ?I'm sure I'll be confused by what she tells me?:-/ .
I forgot the most important part of the ritual....

Flushing an ice cube!

here in columbus, where snow days are as rare as ringer's "serious" posts, the statman and fellow teachers sacrifice a lower-achieving student by throwing him/her into the pit of hell located in the boiler room ;)....works every time, which is why I'm here at school, catching up on some work!

snow days rule!

They are in SWCS, so they figured they could use all the help they could get with getting school cancelled.

our motto is, "there's always next year," although mine is more like, "someone is missing their village idiot!" ;)

Me and my bro always do the snowdance when it says it going to snow.I'll tell you how to do it. It goes like this: sing Snow to the left ( shuffle to the left while dancing on your bed or countertop) snow to the right (shuffle to the right while on your bed or counter) snow snow snow ALL NIGHT!!!!!! ;D

Dancing on the countertop? My husband would never let that fly. Our kids do inside-out PJ's, too but I had never heard about the spoons or ice cube flush.

my girls have done the pjs and spoon thing for snow days. Have any of you heard about licking your fingernails, waving your arms up and down, spin in a circle and scream whaaaaa? I think these kids make them up and tell other kids to do them to see how many will fall for it. ;D

I wouldn't let my dd flush ice cubes but she did dance in front of the fridge. It worked!! who would have guessed that we would have 3 snow days in a row!! >:( They already have a long weekend with Friday and Monday off. Now they will go to school on Thursday and be off again!! :-/

I sure wish work ran on the same policies! ;D
