DAYTON, Tenn. – Bryan College softball closed the chapter on their 2019 campaign after coming up short in a pair of contests during the Appalachian Athletic Conference softball tournament, which took place in Kingsport, Tennessee at the Brickyard Ball Fields April 24-27. The Lions missed the cut for the conference tournament last season, but that wasn't the case this year, as Bryan battled for a remarkable finish to regular-season play that resulted in their retrieving the last seed for the event. The Lions faced-off against the Cavaliers of Montreat College (N.C.) in a must-win series on April 10 and secured the sweep 5-4 and 5-3 to earn the 8-seed entering the tournament. Before Bryan took to Kingsport, they split with Brescia University (Ky.) and followed it up with a thrilling upset of previous ranked No. 5 Georgia Gwinnett in one game of the doubleheader. The dramatic regular-season finale positioned the Lions 20-26 overall and an even 13-13 in AAC play.
