Mayville State Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Dakota Wesleyan
The Comets ran off with the lead late in a 5-2 victory over Dakota Wesleyan in the first game of their doubleheader on Saturday. The game was tied at two with Mayville State batting in the top of the sixth when Rebecca McKown was able to put the ball in play on the ground, scoring Jocelyn Ontiveros and advancing Tai Yamamoto to third base. Laura Spurgeon was able to put one deep enough to centerfield for Yamamoto to tag up and score to build the Comet lead to 4-2.
