DAYTON, Tenn. – As the season draws closer to an end, Appalachian Athletic Conference teams are vying for every single conference game to move up the AAC standings, but on Wednesday the Bryan College softball team came up short in a pair of games against visiting Truett McConnell University. While the Bears completed the sweep, improving to 13-5 in the AAC and 28-12 overall to claim the top spot alongside Milligan College (Tenn.) in the standings, the Lions fell to 8-11 in conference play and 11-28 overall. The Lions were the first to strike in the opening contest, but the Bears rallied late for the 4-2 final before outlasting Bryan once again in another low scoring affair 4-1.
