[Softball] No. 6 Royals Sweep Hawks

FULLERTON, Calif. — The SDC softball team scored first in both games of the DH against No. 6 Hope International.


But for the Hawks, the Royals defeated them both games on Tuesday, 14-1 in Game 1 and 11-2 in Game 2.


In Game 1, Tori Harris scored off an errant throw trying to prevent Bailey Romano from stealing second for the 1-0 lead.


The Royals were shutout in the bottom half of the first inning but later scored three runs in the second, nine in the third, and two in the fourth for their 14 runs on 11 hits.


In the second game. Kayla Mack reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded that scored Joselle Nicholas from third.


But again, the Royals scored in droves. HIU added seven runs in the bottom half of the first inning, three in the third and one in the fourth.


The Hawks scored a run in the second inning off a passed ball.


SDC will finish the season with three straight home dates. The Hawks will host William Jessup on Friday before hosting Menlo on Saturday.


The Hawks will finish the season with two games under the lights on April 21 at 5 p.m.
