In Kingsport, the Montreat Cavaliers bowed out on Friday to exit the 2018 AAC Softball Tournament, but not before leaving a lasting impression on fans and opponents gathered for the event.
After an initial loss to the Truett McConnell Bears on Wednesday, the Cavaliers bounced right back to defeat and eliminate Milligan on Thursday morning.
They then advanced to face Point University on Friday, defeating the Skyhawks 2-0. That set up a rematch with the Bears on Friday evening. There the Cavs run ended, as they narrowly fell to the conference's top team, 2-1, in extra innings to close out an excellent 2018 campaign.
