COLUMBIA, Ky. - The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball team is set to compete against No. 15-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT at Hord Softball Field in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville were originally scheduled to play four-game series on Friday and Saturday but due to inclement weather in the area, Friday's doubleheader was canceled. With the cancellation, the Blue Raiders clinched the Mid-South Conference regular season title and the No.1 overall seed at the conference tournament.
The Blue Raiders (40-2, 19-1 MSC) return to action after defeating Kentucky Christian on Monday afternoon 12-4 and 13-3.
As a team, Lindsey Wilson averages 1.5 home runs per game to lead the NAIA as the Blue Raiders rank seventh in total RBIs with 297 this season. Boasting a 1.47 earned run average, the Blue Raiders sturdy pitching staff ranks sixth nationally.
Makea-Al Kaluau leads Lindsey Wilson in both home runs (14) and RBIs (52) while maintaining a batting average of .448. The reigning Mid-South Conference Player of the Week, Cassie Matlock is also getting it done at the plate with a .410 batting average. She has 30 RBIs and an on-base percentage of .426 so far this season.
Annabelle Ramirez spearheads the Blue Raider pitching staff with a .54 earned run average on 77.2 innings pitched with 110 strikeouts, while keeping opposing batters to a .110 batting average.
