BOURBONNAIS, Ill.- With their undefeated Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) record on the line, the Olivet Nazarene University softball team played host to rival Saint Xavier University (Ill.) on Saturday, April 13. The opener proved to be slightly anti-climactic as the Tigers jumped on the Cougars early and never looked back, picking up a decisive 7-0 win.

The night-cap, however, proved to be more Tiger/Cougar rivalry worthy. ONU took a two-run lead into the fourth inning, but the Cougars capitalized on two Tiger errors, scoring three runs on four hits to take the lead. The Tigers would tie things up in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI single from Felicia Wacasey (JR/Crown Point, Ind.). After a scoreless seventh, the game would be sent into extra-innings. Finally, in the bottom of the 10th inning, Miranda Southall (JR/Wilmington, Ill.) led off the inning with a blast over the right-center field fence to hand the Tigers a thrilling 4-3 victory.

In other action around the CCAC, a loss by St. Ambrose to Judson means that the Tigers clinched at least a share of the CCAC Regular Season title. ONU now has a perfect 18-0 conference record with four games to play. There are currently two teams tied for second place with four losses each.
