[Softball] Tigers fall in a pair of close games
Georgetown College softball opened the 2020 season with a doubleheader against Indiana University Southeast. The Grenadiers took two close ones to edge the Tigers (0-2) 5-4 and 5-3.
Game one went to extra innings and the internal tiebreaker was use, helping the visitors push across a run and win in eight.
IUS struck first with runs in each the first and the second. GC tied it up with a two-run home run by Peyton Beger in the fourth. Southeast got those right back with a two-run home run in the top of the fifth. Beger's day was not done, hitting a solo shot for a one-run game heading to the seventh inning.
