Pretty sure if you include Columbus and everything north of it that we're talking at least 2/3 of the population of the state ... just by sheer numbers, there should be like twice as many teams, right? And the Akron/Canton area is without question one of "hotbeds" of softball in the state. But one should not conclude that the teams in the southern part of the state are weaker ... there's just less of them because there are less people the way you've defined north and south ...

I hope I will see you tomorrow at one of our crappy southern indoor places, watching some poor southern High School kids play on their not as good southern indoor fields. Draw it where you want but the teams from Columbus north are better! I can say this for a fact since I drive my daughter from Cincinnati to Akron every weekend. Not that I don't want my daughter playing on one of the 32 Cincy Slammers teams but face it the north is stronger!

Ok, I couldn't resist....from a geographical standpoint. Centersburg is the geographical center of Ohio. It is midway between Mt. Vernon and Columbus. That makes Columbus in the sourthern part of the state...
