We're also in search of a pitching coach in Preble, Mont. or darke co. Heard of a good one in Newton. Anyone have contact info? Also in reference to Extra innings in Miamisburg--loved it. membership fees got to be too much and too far of drive during busy season for us. Had Amanda Fortune as my girls' first pitching coach there.(Former asst. coach WSU) not sure where she went though. Also Katrina is good there(not sure where from). Tiffany Ward was and awesome Hitting coach but she went to coach at UD.

Scott Herman is both a hitting and a pitching coach form riverdale ( Dayton).

Forgot to mention that in an earlier post.

My daughter started tomight with Cindi Bowles at Home Plate Academy. I'm very impressed with Cindi's technique and communication skills. This is a very good move for my daughter.

Thanks for the newton coaches info but we have since started taking lessons from Scott Herman in Dayton. Very good pitching instructor. The girls really like him and he really breaks down the pitching process, especially getting good movement on the ball.

A lot of people can call themselves a pitching or hitting coach but watching a few videos isn't the best resume. All parents should really be careful who they send their DD too. Some "coaches" go to a clinic or sit back while another instructor gives lessons and takes notes. They then want to call themselves a pitching coach. Improper instruction could cause some serious injuries to your DD.

bcnultr you have a good point about instructors for any position or sport. there are many good instructors out there but there are some who can do almost as much harm as good. one good way to judge an instructor is to go watch there students play. you can also look at how successful the instructors students are. this can tell you about a particular instructor and about a particular style of technique.
