;) if they don't fail, that's usually what happens. Except in Michigan ! Sorry couldn't resist.

Hey, is Tlg from this state ? It is spelled OH IO. True Buckeye fans know what I'm talkin" about.
Just getting tired of of reading that thread misspelled

im sure the pitcher from fairborn will go varsity this year, yes she did have a great year last year, fairborn lost one game to wayne at the beginning of the season and pretty much steamrolled the rest of the year, will be interesting to see thats for sure, and althought fairborn jr high lost its pitcher and heavy hitter, they should still do very well,

Boulder,s_Dad I am sure that the young lady from Fairborn who pitched Jr High ball is a nice pitcher. But honestly the record in Jr. High ball is meaningless with regards to predicting varsity HS success. Especially in a conference like the GWOC. Typically freshman pitchers get a rude awakeing. That is not meant to take anything away from the young lady. As mentioned she is probably a fine young pitcher.

A Majority of JR. High teams would get rolled by an average 12U travel team. Again making the point that a pitchers record vs Jr High teams is no kind of indicator about how she will fair at the varsity level.

Best of luck in the upcoming season.

no offense taken, just stating their record, im sure shes about to have a better appreciation of her pitching lessons, she is a travel player as was 3/4 of the team from fairborn last season, wich probably explains their winning percentage.

Lebanon has a great team with great pitchers, but don't count Miamisburg out in their division. They have 2 strong pitchers as well, and have alot coming back. Could be interesting....

Regarding the Fairborn pitcher from 2007, I have seen plenty of varsity High School pitchers...and she has that kind of talent.

I hope Northmont and Greenville will be able to compete with the teams south of I 70. Sounds like
we may not be able to.

I have no doubt that Northmonet and Greenville will be able to compete with the teams south of I 70. They always have and I see no reason why they would not be able to this season.

Northmont should do very well this year. Their Pitching rotation is awesome, They have lots of speed to go with the bats and the defense will be solid also.
They might just have one of the most complete packages in the area for 2008.

Hows the GWOC shaping up this year? Who's going to be strong, and who is going to surprise a few teams this year?

Greenville not able to compete ??? It seems like they are alwys strong. They are always able to come up with talented ball players and always show up at every game ready to play.

Look for Lebanon to win the GWOC. They have a very deep pitching staff and excellent defense. Miamisburg should be tough also. I don't know who they lost to graduation, but they should be able to reload as their JVteam last year would have beat a lot of Varsity teams

So who does Greenville have in terms of pitching? I know Abby Shell was their #1 but she graduated.

The Pirates of West Carrolton should be competitive. They have a solid returning group and some nice freshmen added to the mix.

In no particular order.

The GMC-greater miami conference

Middletown (have two great pitchers, one junior, one soph.) Jordan, Kayla
Fairfield (good program)
Colerain (great junior pitcher and team full of hitters) Emily, etc
Mason (made it pretty far in the tournament last year)

The Ross Rams are usually pretty strong, however they did lose a senior pitcher.

daved0331 you are correct, Abby Shell did graduate as did 5 other seniors including Justine Shilt who is now at Wright State and appears to be in the mix there as a freshman.

For 2008 Greenville will rely on senior Kylie Gunkel as well as a nice junior and sophmore pitcher. Overall this team should have a better offense and the same high level defense. They play a very tough schedule including weekends at Wendy's, East of Chicago, and the Champions event. My bet is that come tournament time they will be a handful.

Colerain will be the leader everyone else will fight
to finish after. hard to predict who will finish where.
alot of good teams once again in a tough tough GMC
and with the addition of a good Mason team joining
and that many games being played in that short of time....
who knows.

I will be curious to see how the Rams have reloaded this year. They lost more then jst a senior pitcher, they lost some other very good senior starters as well. I think that they will still be the team to go threw in D-II in the SW.
