Indoor Tournament Spano Winter League starts??

Anyone know when winter league starts & whose playing on Sun? Can't find it on Indoorfastpitch.com or spano site.

They have not told us yet but at the coaches meeting 2 weeks ago they thought October 29/30.

If I remember correctly, isn't there a college showcase tournament in the Spano the first weekend of November?

Would the winter league actually have 1 weekend, then a weekend off, then start up again?

Playing the last weekend in oct being off the next weekend for the showcase and then starting back up again is exactly how the league is planning on playing if there is no major glitches in the schedule. all coaches are asked to be checking them now and advising if there is a problem. if not that is how we were told it would start. Whats the big deal these games are nothing but scrimmages?? Its all about being able to play and have competition. When the snow starts flying this will turn into a godsend.

Games are games - scrimmages or not - they mean a lot to the girls who are playing in them.

It's nice to know that the schedules are somewhere. Hopefully those will be passed down to the players soon - especially for those girls who are playing on more than 1 team. That way they can see if there are any conflicts. Coaches don't like to get blind-sided at the last minute!

As you've read, the league is starting on the weekend of the 29th of October and then they will skip the first weekend in November. The coaches received their schedules this past weekend. We were asked not to share the schedules until everyone had a chance to make sure that the schedules were correct. In the past, they have had instances where coaches immediately shared a schedule that later had to be changed - this caused much confusion, so they are handling it this way this year. Once the schedule is verified by the coaches, they will post it online.

The two gentlemen that set up these leagues do an amazing job. There are 40 teams in each of the winter leagues and it seems that some teams make special scheduling requests. The league organizers try to honor those requests and are still trying to chase down rosters, med and liablility forms, and fees from coaches that missed deadlines - so part of the reason that you don't have the info you are seeking is due to the league participants, not the organizers. all saturday coaches, recieved the schedules.... sunday has not been decided yet so we are still waiting on them....

Heard that the Sunday league is still on hold due to another team dropping out. Hopefully it will all be worked out soon.

chuck said 2 teams dropped but 2 have been added so that is the delay in the schedules
