Has anyone caught the channel SportsSkool on Time Warner Channel 1173? It's got a whole thing with Mike Candrea and four ladies from the Olympic squad and they go over everything from Hitting, throwing, running, positions etc... pretty neat.

Interesting note that's been posted many times on this board. He states coaches if you are not letting your catchers call their games, you are doing them a disservice. A large percentage get to college never having called their games. Interesting...

Thanks Hillard, I've checked out SportsSkool before but I didn't realize that have new stuff up there now. I'll have to check it out.

As far as catchers calling their game, I've talked to my 12U DD about calling an inning or two in blowouts to start to get her comfortable. I really think it would make her pay attention to the situation and understand pitching better. She wants nothing to do with it. I think she would feel responsible if she called a pitch and it got jacked to fence.

That's the age our town starts them and you know what, There will be balls jacked to the fence regardless of what they call. They gotta call, pitchers need to hit the spots and fielders have to field, that's why it's a team sport. No one error, pitch or hit is going to lose a game, at least 20 other batters got up during the course of any game and they win or lose as a team.
