www.aclprevent.com/pepprogram.htm

You might want to go to this site and review it and the thread on weight lifting and I am not pushing weight lifting it just happens to have some information to review. The PEP program is in my opinion excellent and with the right help it can take you a long way.

Do your home work and look for a certified trainer to help you.

My dd does the speed and agility training and it has helped her to no one's belief. They work on core and speed without using weights just there body weight is enough. MVP Fitness in West Chester is where my dd goes, the guy that does it is Chris. Great guy and great work-out. Last year she went from running 8 mph on a tread mill to 15 mph in 4 months. Can do rotational 360's at 9.5 mph and she was 9 yrs old when we started. Can't wait to get her back in there for this year and neither can she.

ur in the same year that my DD started playing volleyball, so they did lots of running and conditioning..on her own, she began lifting dumbells to strengthen her wrists and shoulders...we started with 5, then 8lbs, now she's doing 10's like they are no big deal. She's got great lookign arms now! plus she likes to run from time to time, working on her form, sprinting and such

if u dont play another sport, anythng cardio should be good, like running and some light weightlifting

DD started last fall: lifts weights 3 days a week, speed and agility 3 days a week, runs a couple miles almost daily now. She doesn't do extreme weights upper body, mostly bands, more heavy weights for her legs.

I hope you are working her hamstrings as that is the primary issue with the girls as the quads are already there and it is the imbalance of hamstring to quad per the research....Google female ACL injuries and it is an eye opener!

Thank you. She does, and she also works with a professional who stresses a healthy balance of lean mass muscle development. Stretching is as important as muscle development.

I have heard that the volleyball team at my dd's school runs and conditions harder than the track team. The girls say they condition way more than they practice skills and drills all season long. It's not about winning!

Look for a workout that is suited towards your needs and goals. Core and agility are key areas to focus on. Good Luck.
