Still have 1 opening remaining in 12u and 14u. 100% of proceeds for charity. A great opportunity to have your girls play 2 competitive games knowing their efforts are benefiting a truly needy cancer patient. This event is very worthwhile and a lot of fun for the girls.

Thanks to all teams who have signed up to participate in this years Strike Out Cancer event. We are full and schedules have been sent out to the coaches. This year's beneficiary is Flashes of Hope.


Flashes of Hope





Founded in 2001 by the parents of a child with cancer, Flashes of Hope is a volunteer driven organization solely focused on children's cancer. With chapters in 55 cities, they photograph more than 50% of the children annually diagnosed in the United States. Since its founding in 2001, over 31,925 children have been photographed at hospitals and camps across the United States.

For too many families, the portrait from Flashes of Hope is the last one they have of their child. Thousands of children are waiting for a cure while doctors are forced to use outdated and toxic treatments. Cancer is the leading disease killer of children.

Many thanks go out for everyone who helped contribute to make the 2013 Explosive Fastpitch Strikeout Cancer Frenzy a huge success. Among them are:


1.) Rival Sports in Lorain who donated the use of their indoor facility (two fields) for the day. Although it turned out to be a gorgeous day the rain over the last few days made the outdoor site unusable. Rival Sports has two of the largest indoor fields available and it is a terrific facility. Thanks to the staff for helping everything run smoothly.


2.) The Explosive parents who volunteered their time both at the facility, making the extraordinary raffle baskets and the home made baked baked goods.


3.) The players, parents and coaches of all the teams that participated and donated so generously this year some of whom traveled in excess of 2 hours to help make this event successful:
10u Lady Knights, 10u Willoughby Starz, 10u Red Crushers, 12u Outlaws, 12u Valley Force, 14u Sun Dogs, 14u Coventry Fury, 16u Ohio Hurricanes and 16 u Outlaws

4.) Thanks to the umpires who donated 100% of their time.



Cancer is a disease that touches all families and its great that we can rally together as a softball community to raise money for such a worthy cause.
