Team Ohio Fastpitch Organization is expanding to four teams for the 2017 summer!

The 16U Team Ohio Red has had an outstanding season thus far. This has been our statement team. We have been in 8 strong tournaments and have 5 championships to date. We also have numerous girls that have committed and/or are getting ready to this fall, many others with offers on the table. Our main goal is to help these young ladies get recruited and give them the best coaching and instruction along the way! Team Ohio Red has been coached by Mike Mease and Pat Grove in 2016. Both of us have decided to hand off the core of our team of as they move up to 18U and drop down and pick up younger age groups to help grow the organization.

2016 accomplishments:
49-9 current record .845 winning percentage
ASA Qualifier Pinnacle (Medina, OH) Champions
John Wells Memorial (Roadrunners/Zanesville, OH) Champions
Laser Nation Invitational (Columbus, OH) 3rd place
Sheer Madness ASA/USA Qualifier (North Ridgeville, OH) 2nd Place
ASA States (Findlay, OH) 5th place
Best of the Best Showcase (Massillon, OH) - Champions
Mid-Michigan Firestix College Exposure ASA Qualifier (Grand Blanc, MI) Champions
Kentucky Elite Prospects Showcase (Nicholasville, KY) Champions
ASA Easterns - TBD

Each age group is looking for a few more players and will be holding private tryouts. Please see individual team postings for tryout info/needs/contact info.
Here is our coaching lineup for 2017:

18U Team Ohio Red, Connie Pierce (formerly of Thunder Elite) 330/550-1263
16U Team Ohio Black, Pat Grove (formerly of Heart of Ohio Rebels and Team Ohio Red) 614/537-3802

Our daughter played for Pat and Mike this year so we have first hand experience as to how they run their team. I will say that this has been the most enjoyable year we have ever had in softball. The coaches have made the environment of the team as having fun while working hard. Make no mistake the girls work very hard but they have a lot of fun doing it. The dynamics of this team are the best I have ever been around. The girls genuinely like each other. We have a great time at tournaments. If you are looking for a team that gets you a lot of exposure and has a lot of fun, this is the team for you. We trust these guys so.much my youngest daughter will be playing for Mike next year on the grey team.

As the head of the Classics organization I would like to correct the Jeremy Hecker entry. His daughter was a member of the Classics 14U team the past year however he was not an approved coach of the team.

Having coached against Jeremy Hecker many times in years past, I can attest that (in spite of the fact that he was not coaching when his daughter played for the Classics) he is a solid coach and Team Ohio can be proud of having him take the 16U team.

True on Jeremy not coaching Classics, that is my error. We had a rough draft of post and I did not change out a few things before it went live. Sorry for the confusion and in no way were we trying to mislead anyone.

Thanks for the kind words. I will be coaching Team Ohio White along with Brian Stevens (Diamonds Orange). Mark Redfern (Vipers & Classics) will be the head coach. Anybody who knows Mark, knows that he'll do a great job. The plan was to wait to announce Mark as the head coach to avoid being a distraction to our current team but I think the cat is out of the bag. We currently have 9 players committed, and we are only looking to carry 10. We are looking for a middle infielder with speed. The ability to pitch would be a bonus. To set up a private tryout, contact Mark Redfern at (614) 207-6978.
