Some of you may be aware that Ricky Moorehead who started this site many years ago and continues to administer and support it, started up The Softball Zone radio show a few weeks back here on Tuesday evenings from 8-10. I'm honored to be one of the co-hosts on the show, which also includes Joe Abraham, founder of the Buckeye Heat and current head coach at Hillsdale College in Michigan, John Kelley from Softball Smarts in San Diego, and others. I know Ricky has been working hard on fixing a few minor technical bugs, and getting down the show's format, and I'd encourage you to listen in live or after the fact. Link ... Anyhow, one of the features on the show each week has been a "Team of the Week". The last several weeks I've been doing my reporting on college teams I've seen play here during the spring season, but I plan to start turning my attention to travel teams soon. I am not coaching a travel team myself this summer and am based in Northeast Ohio, and hope to get out to a tourney in the Cleveland-Akron-Canton areas most weekends (though I also hope to get down to the Cincinnati area at least once this summer to visit my buddy Andrew and see his daughter Ashe play!). I much prefer to recognize teams that I've actually seen play. And your team doesn't need to be considered one of the top teams in the state either! If you coach a team that you'd like to see recognized, let me know here and/or PM me on your schedule and I'll try to look you up sometime especially if or when you're here in NEO. At a minimum, we'll mention your team on the show, or you might end up as Team of the Week and/or we might even ask you to call in to the show to be interviewed live!
Anyhow, I look forward to meeting some of you this summer!
