All:

I'm the one who's laughing. But don't worry. I'll be banned soon for pointing out the obvious. Pretty soon my posts will be delayed so they can be reviewed by a completely biased "administrator" before being deleted ...
You want it. YOU GOT IT! And let's get another fact straight, it's not because I may disagree with you, I disagree with plenty of people, it's because you can't seem to keep from attacking people and trying to stir up trouble.

Oh that's right, we added a second Toledo Buckeye Heat 16U team! My bad. So our 2009 percentage is pretty close to the 80% that I originally estimated.

Just a couple I can think of. Why they are not here you would have to ask them.

Having an older one who has played on teams that dad's have coached, the organization she has been with (Stingrays) has had dad's coaching them and I would have her play for those coaches the full time, if she was eligible to if she didn't have to move up. Even on OFC I have PM'd folks that were thinking of trying out for them to jump at the chance!
Even when she moved up, the two she has had the last two years, have been as fair as anyone could ask and we wouldn't change a thing as they have taught her many things about softball and have busted their A$$es for the girls.

Maybe it's an organization thing, but we wouldn't have changed it for the world with her and are embarking on another journey with our younger one on the Buckeye Heat's 16's who do not have kids playing, so we shall see and like what we have seen so far...

The best thing for them was when I stopped coaching them, so they could learn more from people that know more about the game than I ever would have known.. I used to take them out of the games first, to be fair to the other girls and sometimes not fair to my own....

Don't pigeon hole all coaches with kids in one box.....

Shockwave did have a 16u team. A couple players left for greener pastures, and one of our pitchers pursued another opportunity, and most felt without that pitcher there was little chance of success. We had players, not what we wanted. I did not and do not want to mix good, average and sub-par players together, makes for a long season. All involved deserved better. I am not fielding a team to just have one, it's not right. I also decided not to coach, and I was being asked to do 2 age groups, and that hurt also. I enjoy watching dd play instead of butting heads with her.

Joe-

I guess you can say those teams ran their course. Many kids did have to move on but ALL 3 could have reloeaded and able to still have a team. Attack folded! Ice Black Folded! Grand Slam Folded! I think the only reason Grand Slam folded was part do to Jerry's health and 2 because many of the girls went off to college. Again ALL 3 of those teams could have reloaded and played on! That is why I say they folded!

I believe that Grand Slam is no more because Goodpasture had some health problems and after 30 + years of being involved in summer ball decided not to coach next summer.
He hasn't had a daughter on the team since the early 90's. Long time Holly Hills coach Dave "Doc" Montogmery passed away in the spring, and he hadn't had a daughter on the team since (I believe) the late 80's. So not every coach "goes away" after DD no longer plays. Unfortunately age does catch up with the coaches who decide to continue because of their love of the game.
