To all my buddies out there and all the families we have played with I wanted to share Ms . Katie signed with the Army Natl Guard Reserves yesterday. She was the last junior to get a " spilt op" this year in ohio. Meaning she will do full Army Boot Camp inbetween her JR and SR of High School at Camp Leonardwood in Missouri leaving June 10 . day after state tourney ends , then after graduation next year she will have 10-15 weeks of MOS ( job training) , then drilling once a month with 68 Whiskey Combat Medic. Unit is in Columbus. Then hopefully college somewhere in Ohio -- Guard pays 100 % tuition for in state public school tuition . ( and she went 3-4 a doub and a homer VS Hillard Bradley today ) Couldnt be prouder . MD

That is amazing! You should be very proud The military was the best decision I ever made (with the exception of having my kids of course). Good luck to her, it is a wonderful experience!

Congrats to you and your daughter. My son also did the split op 2 yrs ago with the ONG. He is also based in Columbus. Best thing about basic (for you) is even though you will not be able to talk to her very often they set up Facebook pages to keep family and friends up to date on what they are doing. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or if she want to talk to some one who has been there. He can tell her exactly what to expect.
