The answer is a definite - YES...
They do cheat but evidently that's cool with the NFL - because they keep getting away with it.
Belichick has not been fired (or been made to fire some low level staffer) for blatantly skirting the rules.

They are one of the biggest reasons I hate the NFL and don't watch any more.

You really think the Patriots are the only ones that are cheating? They are just dumb enough to get caught. Personally I think the "spygate" is BS. Look at the teams filming softball games, are those coaches using that footage to pick up signs or gain an advantage? It may not be their main objective but if they pick something up they will use it to their advantage.

When there is controversy or a rule violation they are there acting smarmy and daring the league to do something about it.

True, but once you get caught all eyes are on you.
I'm by no means a Patriots fan.

Look at NASCAR, when the 48 kept getting caught "cheating" everyone was saying that's why they are wining so much. No. they are just good. The Patriots have a great team so people were digging until they found something they were doing wrong. That's my opinion anyway.

This thread reminds me of a story I heard about Pop Warner on a Radiolab podcast. He makes Belichick look like Mother Theresa. Think: Sewing extra pockets into jerseys to stash the ball in.
