Rumor has it - Central Ohio Stingrays and West Virginia Wild. ?But that's just a rumor. ;)

One of the Valley Extreme teams is talking with his parents but that's all I know there.

Since the 10u and 12u run on the same weekend, we will be pushing later into the evening on Sat. We are also going to ask some of the local teams to start Fri Night.

Lee, I have not heard anything about a 10U Laser team this year. The Thunderplex 10U field looks strong my DD is ready to play.

I saw the 10u Lasers earlier this month in a scrimmage against the Ice. They looked good. Very deep at pitching.

Dave, you have us (Central Ohio Stingrays) listed twice, both in slot 5 and 7 of your 10U listing?

That's cause you guys are really really good. :)

Thanks for catching it. I'm waiting for the West Virginia Wild's form and I think believe that that will do it for the 10s.

I'm working on the schedule now for that weekend with both the 10s and 12s to see just where we are.

I'm not sure, maybe a branch off from the West Virginia Diamond Dusters?

Dave, we do all appreciate the updates, keep up the good work! I look forward to talking with old coaching adversaries like Jeff and Joni, and meeting the new wave of coaches at 10U.

I'm very pleasantly surprised at the distances that people are coming for an indoor tournament - especially the teams from my North Zone.

We all know that the quality of ball in these parts is on par or better than most of the country. PONY has long been dominated by East Coast teams and it now looks like we will be able to show just what our kind of ball is made of.

Any suggestions that will help make these weekends a great experience are welcome.

Dave, we haven't played much Pony in the past. Are there any major rule interpretations that are different then ASA/NSA or is there a websight where I can download rules or brush up a little bit?

Dave,
You encouraged us to play PONY last summer and we had a wonderful time at your NQ and the PONY Nationals.
The facilities in Sterling,Va., were the FINEST I've ever seen. We would have been thrilled to sleep nights on the outfield grass it was so lush!!! And the infields were manicured beyond anybody's wildest expectations.
Truly a first-class event!! We're looking forward to playing at the 12U nationals hosted by the Thunderplex this summer!!

Bink44,

The rulebook can be downloaded from www.pony.org. You will find that with this year's changes from Federation Pitching rules to ASA rules (both feet on the rubber) everything is now basically ASA. At 10u, PONY plays with the same rules as the big girls. Drop 3rd strike, stealing home, stealing more than 1 base are all part of the game.

We only play 1 indoor modification and it is for safety reasons - and that deals with the ceiling net. If the ball hits the ceiling net in fair territory - the first time in an at-bat it is treated as a foul ball. The second time in the same at bat - batter is out. We dont want the girls trying to field a riccocette. The net is 40' up, so you can still have fly balls, but it can take some weird angles when it deflects.

bigtrain,

talk about pressure.... ;D ;D
