The tournament was divided into A and B pools. ?The teams chose which level they were to play in by registration. so, it was not purely draw. ? The better teams should have been in the A division (not always the case though). ?

The tournament was 7 game guarantee (no brackets). You only play in your own division. ? As far as I know the A pools were combined in the results and the B pools were combined for the results. ?You get 2 points for each win, 1 point for tie 0 points for loss. ?Winner is determined as follows:

1) # of earned points
2) Head to head competition
3) # of runs allowed
4) coin flip.

I don't know all the scores because we played at homecoming park, not the rec ctr fields, so I have no idea of who the "winners" were. Their scores were not posted at our location.

Yes, I was quite surprised to see them in the 'A' division. Before even going into the tourney, I felt bad for the girls. They really would be better off succeeding in a B level group than being pummeled in the A division. It is no fun for any of them.

I'm pretty sure Lasers Gold scored 75, gave up 13. Great thunder pitcher. When we put the ball in play their D made big plays. Would love to play this team every weekend. Good job Thunder and Laser!

It is a really weird setup. There were 16 teams in the 12U "A" Division. These 16 teams were broken into 2 pools of 8 teams. Each pool played the other 7 teams in their pool. The order of finish was then based on your record and the tiebreakers listed above by lady Irish. I know our pool consisted of the following teams:

SGS Magic 6-1
Emeralds Black 5-2
Buckeye Blasters 4-3
Finesse ??
Sylvania Sharks Green ??
Metro (Pittsburgh PA)
Renegades (Pittsburgh PA)
Diamond Dolls

The other pool had the Lasers, Indy Thunder, another SGS Magic team, I believe an Ann Arbor Gold team, Lady Irish and the rest I dont know or any of their results.

I think that it was SGS Magic Blue in this group, not the red. The Red was the one that went 6-1, I think.

I was lucky enough to get to watch the Lasers Gold and Thunder Game yesterday. I have gotten the chance to see the Lasers before and they did not hit like they normally do. They did hit the Thinder pitcher but not as well as I have seen them.
I think both teams played well, but what ultimately did the Lasers in were the fielding errors: a dropped ball in center field, a ball that was catchable in left, a dropped infield fly by the 2nd baseman and a fielding error by the 2nd baseman where it was not fielded cleanly and the coach ran them out of the inning by sending the girl on third. The Thunder did not have any fielding errors which led to there win. I would love to see this match up again when the Lasers Coach gets the kinks out.

The errors you speak of only resulted in 1 run ( The infield fly ) the others were ugly but no harm, the running error was not a coach error but an 11 year older making a mistake, yes you are correct we did not hit her as well as wev"e hit other teams, as you know she pitched them to an ASA national championship last year and did not give up a run to the best 400 or so 10 year old hitters in the nation, she 's the real deal no doubt.
Yeah it would be fun to see them more often.

It was the Ann Arbor Gold Craig team, all 12 year olds. We had a great weekend and had the misfortune to get beat by the Lasers and The Thunder. The Lasers pounded us 15 to 4, the Thunder beat us 3 to 0. The AA Gold scored 65 runs and allowed 22, they had a good tournament. They work hard so thanks!!!

Wow softballdad you seem to know an awfull lot about our team what team are you with? I'll explain to our 2nd baseman (myDD ) that she is still the 2nd baseman and will continue to be, and not to worry that is only her 2nd and 3rd error in 5 tourneys and 2 friendlys not bad for an 11 year old don"t ya think softballdad ? Maybe we should be sure our brain is engaged before putting your mouth into gear?
