As far as pet peeves goes...

1. Parking fees, I remember a day when I never had to pay for parking now it seems like every tournament we go to there is a parking fee.
2. No fences or games played on a baseball field with 300 foot fences
3. Tournaments that don't allow coolers or grilling

Re: Top pet peeves of 'tournament' ball

I know there are good reasons for the timed game .....I will settle for 90 minutes ....haven't seen one of those in quite awhile . But I do think if you have the run rule in effect you would be surprised how quickly a game could get lopsided if one team didn't execute on one side of the ball . Adding the base runners would really give more opportunities' to players that may not get on base that often It could also have teams scoring more ...which would bring the excitement up ...can you get more energy/excitement with bases loaded, down or up a run in the last inning ...just saying!!! I guess I will just get used to coaches delaying games , teams walking on/off the field and players tying shoes and moonwalking to the plate. I Don't see it a lot but I hear and see it enough, its not a big problem just a peeve!

My Big Pet Peeves are (TD), that use the forum to promote tournaments.

Thinking it's cool to never reports results of tournament(s) inside the forum. Is that to much to ask of (TD)

I thought we had a pretty good discussion about this topic last night on the radio show, especially around time limits and temp fences. Feel free to listen to the podcast and comment on here.

I don't like it when coaches, in any sport or any format, argue for things their kids didn't earn.

The last time we played our center fielder made a great catch, she laid out and got it. Plate umpire said no catch. Our side of the field wasn't happy. Our coach goes out and has a word with the plate umpire and then goes back in the dug out. While the 2 umpires talk it over the guy coaching 3rd looks at me and a couple of other parents and says "That was a great catch..." I said "You think she got it?" "Oh yeah, great catch..."

The umpires finish talking, plate umpire says "Catch, batter is out." Guy coaching 3rd says "It was a great catch, but you know I have to argue this..." and then he proceeds to go and make his case. The guy coaching 1st was still giving them grief about it an inning or two later. Their player didn't earn a hit, one of their coaches said she didn't twice, then he went and fought for it anyway.
