OK, I may be the #1 reason my DD has been late to some games over the years, and am wondering how everybody else seems to always make their Fast Pitch schedules (Games, Practice, Training, Lessons,......) work with DWs schedule, three kids playing travel sports and somehow still be able to WORK as required.
IS IT JUST ME? lol
So, hoping this Poll will provide me validation whether I'm the only parent showing up late or if others out there are racing like maniacs from hundreds of miles away calculating distance by speed to figure out how many minutes early/late we are going to be, each time we get in the car.
WISH I COULD SAY I HAVE A #1 REASON FOR BRINGING DD LATE TO A GAME/TOURNEY OVER THE YEARS, BUT THERE JUST SEEMS TO ALWAYS BE SOMETHING BIZARRE AND NEW THAT KEEPS CHALLENGING US. GLAD 2009 is almost behind us. lol
- Got Lost, 2008 NSA Nationals in Columbus: Arrived 10 minutes after start of
.... game. YIKES! SORRY KAVIN! Still haven't purchased a GPS. (SANTA, PLEASE!)
- 2009 Stingrays, drove up Saturday morning to watch my DD's eyes pop out of her head as she opened the van hatch back... The LOOK in her eyes could only mean one thing.... HER BAT BAG IS SITTING IN THE DRIVE WAY IN CINCINNATI!!! THANK GOD for Sheri Anderson, who while I was already SPEEDING back home, found spare pair of cleats, glove, and other miscellaneous gear and called me as I was 20 miles into the return trip to cinci, to hear... "COME ON BACK, she is fine"! That was the best call I received all year. THANKS SHERI! BTW, POOR Doug Lenos, had to take the brunt of my frustration as I was driving 95+ MPH back towards Cinci leaving him a vmail venting about what just happened and asking my favorite questions, "SOOOOO, IS IT JUST ME"?
So, IS IT JUST ME? Or, do you OFCers have your own personal little trials and tribulations you're willing to share here about WHAT CAUSED YOU TO BE LATE TO A GAME.
Also, if not too personal or conflicting, wondering how your team/coach handled these situations, as we all know that TEAM means that we arrive on time.
