Top Reasons DDs were late to a TOURNAMENT Game

We haven't been late to a game, but were late to a warmup. The wife experienced a serious pants malfunction at the Wildcats tournament in Parma last year, and was just going to stay in the car. But dd and I said no, raced to wife's favorite clothing store (thankfully several malls in close proximity) in between games, ran in, bought a couple pairs of replacement shorts and went to fast food restaurant so wife could change into something decent and skedaddled back to the park, just as coach was calling to find out where we were.
Of course the dd has gone to pitching lesson with A) no glove once, and B) no shoes once (Thankfully Famous Footwear 8 minutes from indoor lesson and we had got there 30 minutes early.)

I think I NEED to add "Wardrobe Malfunction" to the poll list...

Philbob, that is too real.

NOTE TO SELF: Add item to "TRUNK LIST"
- Extra clothes for wife.

Late twice, once in `08 and once last year, but only late for warmups.

In `08 was because a huge accident on 75 south just 5 miles into Kentucky when we were heading to the Hebron KY fields. Scary thing was that I had two other girls from the Cincy Doom team with us since they stayed the night with us at the hotel. Did not know a shortcut. Had to call coach Doug to tell him "hey we might be late......." I dreaded that phone call.
That was the tournament we only had 9 girls (2 were missing that weekend).

Since past summer was due to miscommunication of which fields to be at in Akron. Only missed the right fields by 3 miles. Sat there 15 minutes at the other fields being used for the tournament and didnt see anybody from the team so I called up the coach "where is everybody". Of course his response is "where the heck are you". LOL!
This was our first tournament with them in June after our original team blew up and folded that late spring. So since we never met before that tournament, they were probably thinking 'what kinda of goofballs did we sign up here' LOL!
Ole Dale (semperfi1977) can tell ya about this one.

Just wish we could found a way to resign goofballs like this again!! No coach would mind someone being late if they could show up and pitch like Aubrie!!!!!!

Our first team at 10u if you were not there dressed and ready to go an hour before game time you sat on the bench. Trained us to leave early. Funny how when you get to a tournament early, you see the teams that will be there late Sunday. The teams that leave early have players running in before game time. I operate on Lombardi time.

According to former Green Bay Packer great, Paul Hourning, there were two "times" when playing for coach Vince Lombardi. Regular time versus "Lombardi Time." Regular time was what most people followed. Lombardi Time was always 15 minutes earlier. And it was adhered to by winners. If a Packer meeting was scheduled to begin at 8:00am, astute players knew to arrive and be ready to go at 7:45am. Every time. Read more NFL news on BleacherReport.com

My Chicago Da Bears alarm clock refused to go along with Lombardi Time. And I learned you never put the snooze button in arm's reach. :lmao:

We let someone else's mom drive our daughter to a tournament game. That was the last time she drove our daughter to a game.

Yep, Harrison. I did the last game of Saturday night (what was it a 2 am start or something) and then drove home to shower, wash clothes and drove in the express lane on 275 west only to come up on a guy with a flat tire in the express lane with no where to go. Helped change flat.

It was Bustos and you guys. I refused to keep the money from my umpiring that game and gave it to the Bustos group after the game for ice cream later in the day for the girls. Bad karma to keep umpire money when you are late. Bad karma. I've only been late three times in 26 years... your lucky day Musty.
