Umpire looking to work tournaments

I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm taking the ASA/OHSAA certification course and will be looking for tournaments and weeknight games to do this spring and summer.

I've got some umpire experience and am a college baseball player, however I would be new to the travel side as I have been doing mostly local rec ASA for the past several years.

I see there are several tourneys in the cincinnati, dayton and even columbus areas and I don't know who to contact about umpiring these events.

Does each area have a coordinator that I can contact? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you taking the classes put on by Jerry Fick in Cincinnati on March 21 & 22? If so, he is a good person to talk to about this! I'm sure that it is something that will be covered in the classes.

Each area does have it's own group or association that handles umpire assignments. You need to find the group in your area. Go to this link:

http://www.ohsaa.org/officials/directory/default.htm#Assigners

Under "Assigners", "Certified Instructors" or "Local Officiating Associations" you can find contact info for umpire groups througout the state. Find the one closest to you and give them a call!

What area are you from. We run our indoor tournaments in Middletown. We have 2 events scheduled for next weekend and could use 1 or 2 more umpires. This would be a great way to get a little "on the job training". If you're intrested, give me a call at 513-393-2354.

Thanks,
