The University of Akron Preseason Skills Clinics are a great way to start off the 2012 softball season!
Improve your skills and prepare for the upcoming season!
Clinics will cover the following skills:
Power Hitting, Bunting, Slapping, Base Running, Beginning and Advanced Pitching, and Fielding!
Advanced Pitching
(ages 13 and up)
Pitchers will learn advanced pitching mechanics for the curve, drop, rise, screw and change
along with advanced workout suggestions.
All pitchers MUST bring their own catcher.
Time: 12:00 ? 1:30 pm
Beginning Pitching
(ages 8 ? 12)
Beginning pitchers will learn basic pitching fundamentals and mechanics.
All pitchers MUST bring their own catcher.
Time: 12:00 ? 1:30 pm
Power Hitting, Bunting, Slapping and Base running
Hitters will learn power hitting fundamentals and drills to increase batting average.
Time will also be spent learning fundamentals for bunting and slapping.
The intricacies of base running will be covered, including technique and philosophy.
Time: 1:50 ? 3:20 pm
Fielding Skills
Participants will learn fielding techniques for all positions including catching.
Sessions will be divided between infielders and outfielders and then by position.
Throwing, fielding, footwork, positional skill work, teamwork and communication will be covered.
Time: 3:50 ? 5:20 pm
sessions will be divided by skill level.

3:50 ? 5:20 p.m. --- Fielding
? Athletes need to come prepared with their OWN EQUIPMENT such as gloves, bats, tennis shoes, catching gear, and helmets!!
? Clean tennis shoes must be worn inside Stile Field House! NO CLEATS!
? Pitchers must bring a catcher!

Three Sessions: $120.00
