If Team USA pouts around the field looking bored with the whole, "We are way to good to be playing on the same field as these (pick an opponent) shlubs" mentality for all the world to see, it would only reinforce the International Olympic Committee's decision to pull the event because the USA is simply too dominating in this particular event.

It's almost as if the IOC completely discounted the fact that there are always Silver and Bronze medals to be won, and that if every team can't realistically compete for the Gold, what's the point in even having the event. A very small-minded thought, indeed. There's a reason why there is only one Gold, and it's reserved for the best of the best. Why not get rid of ping-pong since China and Taiwan dominate that awesome sport? haha.

For Olympics 2008 though, Team USA should just keep having fun, and letting the world know they enjoy the sport... maybe Japan or Australia will give them a decent game in the medal round.

Personally, I think the fact that Crystal could reach that far outside & drive a pitch like that over the fence is amazing. That's skill. Besides, who in their right mind would throw her or Mendoza anything sweet in the zone? Isn't that what great hitters do: take pitches that are balls & drive them deep?

This is nothing new...please go back to the Gold Medal game 2004 and look at CB's first home run and it is 8 inches off the plate outside and went about 235 feet right center and then the next one was 308 feet left field and it was 10 inches inside...she moved as the pitcher was pitching and in her wind up....ask her yourself at the clinic.

She makes it happen.....notice how the other TEAM USA players are starting to hit the lower pitches now....come to the clinic and we will show you why and how to do it! Tash has never done it before and now TEAM USA has the home run record as a TEAM!
