If you have an interest in umpiring or running tournaments with the Ohio USSSA, then we would like to hear from you.

What we offer umpires:

**Updated training & certification - Beginning in 2010, there will be a state umpires clinic held in early April. This will encompass rules, and general mechanics along with three-man and four-man mechanics. Central Ohio will also have 3-4 rules meetings prior to this state clinic.

**Sanctioning that encompasses two other sports - I know this is a fast-pitch forum, but several umpires work baseball and slow-pitch when there are no fast-pitch games to call. Your 2010 sanction fee covers all three. For the baseball umpires, Ohio USSSA has one of the largest participation bases in central Ohio. There are league games nightly in the spring/summer with a demand for those officials.

**Opportunity to travel to work states/NIT/Worlds - With the Ohio USSSA expanding into central/north central ohio, there will be an increased demand for officials. There will still be plenty of assignments for the southern part of the state.

What we offer tournament directors:

**Increased support system and reasonable fee structure - Feel left alone by your sanctioning body until the paperwork is due? Starting in 2010, Ohio USSSA is going to be working hand in hand with tournament directors. This will be to ensure that your event is a success for everyone involved especially the girls.

**Solid qualifying system for your teams - Ohio USSSA will be offering host team berths for organizations that put on USSSA qualifiers. Ohio USSSA also offers a northern & southern state tournament along with a fall state tournament. These help teams meet the USSSA requirement of playing in the state tournament to keep berths. This year, Ohio USSSA will be offering an 'odd' year state tournament. This will be for 11-u, 13-u, & 15-u teams. Ohio USSSA also offers NIT's which feature direct berths into the various World tournaments.

**Solid venues for postseason play - Ohio USSSA hosts there state tournaments at established and well ran facilities like the Lucas Country Rec Center, CYO Fields-Toledo, Beavercreek, Pickerington Central, and Expressway Park. USSSA also hosts there world series in venues like Lincoln Park-Columbus, IN, Fun Valley Sports complex-Kansas City, MO and the grand jewell of them all - Disney World.
