Vally Extreme Update:
Unfortunately mother nature decided our fields needed some water at about 9:40 a.m. (not to mention hail), so after pushing off about a good 1/2 inch of rain play continued. ? ?When played continued we lost two of our six fields.
Not sure how everyone faired, but I do know our 10U-Kiser team has a #2 berth going into Sunday. ? ?
In the 12U group the top three seeds are (all 2-0 records):
1. Valley Extreme
2. Rampage
3. Ohio Top Guns
In the 14U group the top four seeds are (all 2-0 records):
1. Pittsburgh Spirit-Black
2. Brampton Blazers
3. Valley Extreme-Blue
4. Valley Sting

The Valley Extreme would like to extend a special thanks to the acting UIC "Dave Matz" for going that extra mile in assisting us in getting through the "down-pour" that happened Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m.! ? ? Dave quickly took charge and presented a very workable plan to make the tournament a success....and immediately picked up a broom and lead the charge to push water off the four fields at Candlelight. ? ? We were back and playing by 12:30 p.m.

I was looking for the ICE AND VALLEY EXTREME TO CRUISE TO THE FINALS,wow this is a big upset.I heard the spirit won it on a 2 run homer with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th.WOW!! >

The final came down to last inning and the Spirit 3rd baseman hit a two-out, two-run homer out of the park to win the game. It was about as exciting as a game gets and both teams left it all on the field.
For the weekend, the Spirit had 5 balls leave the park by three different players and another missed going out in dead center by less than a foot. Great hitting for 13 year olds.

The 14 final surprised me too, but the Maddogs played a great game against the V-Extreme and the Pittsburg team jumped on the Ice early (6 or 7 in the first inning). Both those teams earned there spot in the final.

Great post about Dave Matz!!!!! This is not the first time this year. He and his staff did a great job at the Boardman tourney, I did make a comment about Matz during the trophy presentation concerning rain and Dave!!! Sorry you will have had to been there to hear it, but another great job.

i agree, there were some good teams at the tournament and no one knows if the lazers would've won. its nice to take pride in certain teams but dont be so sure that they would beat everyone.

It seems awful early to say no team can be touched. There were 4-6 teams at this tournament that will give anybody a good game.
