She is good. Been pitching since 7th grade on that team. We played her last year and she retired our first 7 but then we ended up getting on her and beating them 7-0.

Odie Estep - (740) 643-2021 is the Symmes Valley head coach. I can't find much as far as actual directions.. to be honest, I just hop on the bus from Lakota East and walk off at the field haha it is the Symmes Valley High School field though and I believe it had 3 softball fields at the complex.

3 fields at 1 complex. 1 field is actually a LL basefields fiels with grass infield. as far as directions go -- good luck. right at the oak tree , left at the cow field , etc etc ... nearly everyone gets car sick on the trip to SV , it might be the only place I get a little queezy. lots of curves and hills.

So the 4 fields listed in the schedule are actually on the high school grounds? You can't tell that at all from the aerial map views online and fields are usually easy to spot.

fields are NOT at the HS complex . they are close to the HS , but down the road a piece , not for sure how far, you come to the fields before you get to HS . And yes there is 4 fields , I forgot about 1 that was not in use . MD

I'm with Lakota East and we are supposed to play at 12:00 and 2:00 although driving straight into rain right now so I'm pretty bummed..

ManitouDan - also we are staying in Portsmouth at the Ramada/River Inn.. Do you have any suggestions of things we can do? Movie theatres or anything? Let me know

Looking for updates espicially Gahanna Lincoln..Cant make the trip.

I live in portsmouth Misti --Withing walking distance (5-6 blocks) are a couple good choices . Toro Loco can accomadate large groups and has decent Mexican food . not great , not bad. Meline's (spelling) has Italian , again decent but not super, calzones are huge . A great option for Steak and smoked country style ribs is the SCIOTO RIBBER , It a bar/restaurant thats a southern ohio icon. The steak is usually phenomenial, and the ribs are great also. Lots and Lots of old Bengal/NFL stuff decorate the walls. Small ribeye or strip is about 22 bucks and the large at 32-34 ounces feeds two at about 33-35 bucks. Not fancy at all but great meat. (forgot --you show up at 6-8pm on a friday night there will probably be a wait , esp if you have a large group )

A small irish pub called Port City Cafe has a small sandwich/soup menu and live music on frid/sat nights. Usually pretty lively.
about 10 blocks away is a pizza place with a bar called The Brew Pub that has a bunch of speciality beers and a full menu. Service is spotty but if small batch brew is your thing thats an option.

The most lively joint that the young crowd loves is the local BW's . It's located directly beside the Dakota Steakhouse (CAN"T recommend this place) service and food are just a huge gamble, and the local theatre. So kids could do movies while the adults hang at BW's or vice versa. . hotel staff can direct you.

Hope you get a game or two in, The guys at SV are really good folks. Would be my guess they will do everything possible to get games in. hopefully spend some of that gate money on field dry. need any more advice or questions PM me. I live about 5 min from you in town. MD

got a very unverified report that the noon and 2pm games were cancelled. I'm 40 miles to the east but we got far less rain that what was called for. one shower this am about 10am , but what SV gets , may not be what I get here at work.
