VPRD Softball All Skills & Pitching /Catching Clinic

Campers will learn the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, base running, bunting, slapping, and conditioning in a dynamic and fun environment. Campers will be divided according to age group and guided through stations instructed by current and former college softball players emphasizing fundamentals, good sportsmanship, and advanced skills for mature players. Each player will receive a camp T-shirt. All skill levels welcome, the camp instructors will modify drills for each skill level, from beginner to advance.
An optional pitching/catching session will be conducted in the afternoon (4:45-5:45) on both days for athletes interested in learning beginning or advanced pitching/catching techniques.

Camp Sessions:
3rd-6th grade session I: Thursday & Friday 8:00 am- 12:00pm

7th-12th grade session II: Thursday & Friday 12:30 pm- 4:30pm

Pitching/Catching Clinic: Thursday & Friday 4:45 pm- 5:45 pm

Fee: $45/child; $30/additional family member

Pitching/Catching Clinic: $20 or $10 in addition to all skills camp

Location: Vandalia Sports Complex (fields 8, 9, 10 and 11)

Instructors:
Camp instructors include former professional softball player Erin Brockert-Halstead, a 2001 Vandalia Butler, Madonna University graduate and private pitching instructor. Erin holds numerous offensive records and pitching records with Madonna University and was two time WHAC pitcher of the year and one time player of the year. Liz Ballinger a Madonna University graduate and softball standout and current High School coach, Ashley Shay a member of the 2009 Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference championship Madonna Softball team, and Kathy Day also a Madonna alumni and current high school coach. Brooklyn Cox, 2008 Butler graduate and Capital University catcher, and utility player.

Campers will need to bring: softball glove, cleats, clothing to wear playing softball, a bat (optional), helmet (optional), water bottle, sunscreen, visor or hat.
