Veterans Day....

My son is serving as color guard this morning at his school and later today at downtown ceremony. I would like to take this time to thank those who served, those who are in service and future service men and women. Because of you we live in this great country and we are able to discuss all things without fear of repercussions.

My father fought alongside Allied forces during the Korean War, he was a lieutenant, and was 20 years old. When the war ended, he immigrated to the US so he could become a US citizen just like the "buddies" he served with over those 3 years. Even though he wasn't in the US Army, I still thank him and call him on this day, because he is in my mind a veteran who fought for democracy...
