Walsh Jesuit summer softball camp June 10-13

The Walsh Jesuit softball program will be holding its annual Warrior Softball Summer Youth Camp on June 10-13 for girls entering the 5th through 9th grade in the fall.

The camp will be held on the Walsh Jesuit High School campus with hitting drills performed in our fieldhouse and fielding drills performed on our newly renovated softball field. The four-day camp runs from 1 - 4 p.m each day.

Topics to be covered include:

• Hand-eye coordination
• Basic athletic movement
  
• Hitting
• Bunting
  
• Base running
• Throwing
• Fielding

In order to further refine each player's particular defensive skills, for part of each day, players will be broken into groups by position: Infield, Outfield, Catching, Pitching. Campers are encouraged to try multiple positions.

Besides strengthening core fundamentals, instructors will teach campers what we do differently at Walsh Jesuit and how campers can incorporate those concepts into their own game.

The camp will be run by the Walsh Jesuit softball coaching staff, current players, and potentially some former players of mine who are currently playing or have played at the NCAA Division I level.
